Katzourakis: My goal is to fight for a big title in 2019 or 2020

Andreas Katzourakis' (2-0, 2 KO) next fight is almost here! After a three month absence, the middleweight fighter will return to action on March 15th in Los Angeles, on a card with his stablemate Triantafyllos Mavidis. Inthering.gr spoke with him about his small break and his goals from now on.

Andreas, we haven't seen you in the ring since last December, after your imposing win against Chukka Willis.

Yes, that's true. After my fight I stayed away from training for a bit because of a minor injury that troubled me and kept me out of things for about a month. As soon as I got the green light from my doctor, we started training again and we are gradually upping the tempo.

Tell us what you know about your opponent.

His name is Quintavious Cash, he is twenty seven years old and he has a record of 10-2, 7 ΚΟ. As you can understand, this is a big challenge but I am in tremendous shape, which is why we took the fight.

What are your goals now that you are injury free?

2019 will be a very important year for me as we would like to start pursuing stronger opponents in my division after this fight, because by beating them I will move up pretty fast in the rankings. Our goal is by the end of 2019 or 2020 to fight for a title of one of the big four governing bodies.
